Two men in their 20's, who have developmental disabilities, are currently seeking a creative, outgoing individual or couple who are interested in moving into the their home, (sorry no children, no pets) . Both gentlemen are very independent but do use wheelchairs to get around. They are fun loving, intelligent guys who enjoy being out and about in the community, having friends over and trying out new adventures.
The successful applicant(s) will provide support/guidance, mentor-ship & companionship as needed. This is ideal if you attend college or university or have weekday employment. The home is located in South Lethbridge.
This position would involve you moving into the gentlemen's home . You will live in a 2 bedroombasement suite, (bathroom, living area, bedrooms) and share the kitchen with the gentlemen up stairs.
You will be available weeknights, Monday - Thursday 10:00pm - 7:30am, if the gentlemen require anything through the night and Friday 10:00pm - Monday 7:30am to support the gentlemen with weekend activities and adventures and overnight supports if required.
In exchange for your support, guidance and mentor-ship, you will live rent free (including utilities, internet and cable) + receive $2500.00 per month remuneration and a grocery subsidy. If you are needing any evenings off you will be responsible for subcontracting someone to provide support at your cost.

You will support both individuals by moving into their home and your role as a Contracted Live-In Community Connector (Roommate Companion) will include, but is not limited to, the following:
Previous experience providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities and personal care is an asset.
