Southern Alberta Community Living Association uses a team approach in supporting families who have a child with a developmental disability.
The team involves the family and/or guardian, the private contractor and SACLA staff. The family and/or guardian is the key decision maker in how supports to their child will be delivered.
Examples of how some families are choosing to be supported include:
- Their child lives at home full-time and with another family in the community for one or more weekends per month
- Their child visits them when possible but lives with another family full-time
