Respite Contractor & Roommate Companion Contrator
Would you like to share your time, your skills and be a mentor, role model and support to an individual a few times a month? Are you interested in sharing your motivational skills and strategies with someone?
Are you interested in supporting someone in your home as (1) a Respite Provider (1-2 weekends a month, or as arranged between you and the individual and their guardian)or are you interested in providing your skills to support someone on
(2) a full time basis in your home as a Roommate Companion. In some cases applicants with no children living in the home are preferred.
The successful candidate will be a motivated, self starter who is confident and professional. This applicant will have the ability to connect an individual to his or her community and enable them to be a participant in the community not simply an observer.
The role of a Respite Provider and a Roommate Companion is a relationship between 2 adults with the common goal of living life to the fullest; sharing passions and dreams, learning/teaching exciting new things and creating new adventures & memories; this is not a "caregiver" role.
A Roommate Companion will fit well if you have additional employment during the day. Remuneration is dependent on the level of support required.
You will need a clear Criminal Record Check inclusive of a Vulnerable Sector Check; access to a vehicle; Emergency First Aid certificate.

Respite Live In Companion - Fri 10p-Sun10p
Are you looking for a way to share your extra time, passions & skills with someone? The remuneration will be negotiable depending upon your availability.
We are currently seeking a man or woman who would be interested in providing live in support on weekends. You will live in the gentlemen's home on weekends; sharing the home and providing your support/mentorship skills and companionship as needed to 3 young gentlemen with developmental disabilities. The successful applicant must have the ability to lift and transfer as 2 gentlemen are in wheelchairs.
The gentlemen's home is within walking distance to the college; where one of the gentlemen attends and another has aspirations to do so as well. The gentlemen are active, social guys who are involved in the community; enjoying sports, gaming and family connections.
You will need a clear Criminal Record Check inclusive of a Vulnerable Sector Check & Emergency First Aid/CPR Certificate.
