Respite Contractor & Roommate Companion Contrator

Would you like to share your time, your skills and be a mentor, role model and support to an individual a few times a month? Are you interested in sharing your motivational skills and strategies with someone?

Are you interested in supporting someone in your home as (1) a Respite Provider (1-2 weekends a month, or as arranged between you and the individual and their guardian)or are you interested in providing your skills to support someone on
(2) a full time basis in your home as a Roommate Companion. In some cases applicants with no children living in the home are preferred.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, self starter who is confident and professional. This applicant will have the ability to connect an individual to his or her community and enable them to be a participant in the community not simply an observer.

The role of a Respite Provider and a Roommate Companion is a relationship between 2 adults with the common goal of living life to the fullest; sharing passions and dreams, learning/teaching exciting new things and creating new adventures & memories; this is not a "caregiver" role.

A Roommate Companion will fit well if you have additional employment during the day. Remuneration is dependent on the level of support required.

You will need a clear Criminal Record Check inclusive of a Vulnerable Sector Check; access to a vehicle; Emergency First Aid certificate.

If you are interested in applying on line please click on the "read more" section below or you may pick up an application at the SACLA office.

If there is an individual that we think may be a good match, we will contact you for an interview with you. If there is currently no one who we believe will be a good match now, we will hold your application for 3 months from the date of submission.

If you have any questions you may contact Shannon, Human Resources Advisor at 403-329-1525 or at humanresources@sacla.ca
