Southern Alberta Community Living Association offers support and assistance to natural families raising a child with a developmental disability. Contractors fill the role of providing full and part-time care, intended to give families a planned break.
PRIVATE CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES:
- What is an Associate Family?
An Associate Family provides support to natural families by caring for their disabled child on a full-time basis in their home. The child visits their natural family whenever possible.
- What is Host Family?
A Host Family provides support to natural families by caring for their disabled child for one or more weekends per month in their home. The child lives at home with their natural family on a full-time basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Emergency First Aid
- Able to support the emotional and physical needs of the child
- A combination of education and work experience in the field of rehabilitation working with children with developmental disabilities
- For the right person(s) without the required education/work experience, consideration may be extended to those who embrace the values and beliefs of this Association – education and training may be provided
